Ángel Longueira-Romero

Bio

I am a cybersecurity researcher currently working in the Cybersecurity Team at TECNALIA Research and Innovation Center in the Basque Country, Spain. I also actively collaborate with Mondragon University with the data analysis and cybersecurity research group.

I hold a Master's degree in Automation Engineering and Industrial Informatics, and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering, both from the University of Oviedo. I also hold a Ph.D. in vulnerability analysis in embedded systems from Mondragon University.

Research Interests

My research focuses on industrial cybersecurity, and more precisely, in embedded system security:

  • Hardware security.
  • Public Key Infrastructures (PKI).
  • Quantitative vulnerability analysis.
  • Security metrics and metric aggregation.

I also usually work with all the stardards related to this topic, such as the ISA/IEC 62443 ,CPE, CWE, CVE, CVSS, and CAPEC.

I also enjoy doing my own reserach / training in pentesting. And because of my background, I usually work on my own projects about electronics. I am passionate about designing and building circuits, PCBs, vacuum tubes and solid state amplifiers and anything of this kind.

  • CrossFit: Since I discovered sport, it has become an important part of my life.
